They are big programs. Do you mean your data or the app itself? Is your HD 5400rpm or 7200 how much cache? USB2 transfers ~480 Mb/s so it shouldnt take that long. USB3 even faster

TeraCopy is a freeware file copy utility which can replace Windows own copy handler. I've used it for a few years now, its very stable and provides much faster file transfers.

Glad to be of help.

If you want TeraCopy to run automatically and don't choose the option to replace Windows default copy handler on installation, you will have to run copy operations manually (or via the context menu option).

If you want TeraCopy to handle all transfers automatically - Open the program via All Programs and go to More > Menu > Options > check Use TeraCopy as default copy handler.

Win 7 slow file transfer speed
I've been having a lot of problems trying to get effective file transfers working between Windows 7 machines in my home network. I have a desktop machine running Win 7 64 bit, and a laptop running Win 7 64 bit also. The laptop has a Realtek wireless NIC (120 Mbps). My desktop uses a Dlink...

How to make file transfer from my laptop to a CD/DVD much faster?
Hello! So, well right now I am copying files (around 3.6GB) to a DVD. The thing is though, it is taking much more longer than it should take (apparently, it should take only 5-10 minutes?). It says it'll take **4 HOURS** for the file transfer to finish. Why is it that it is taking so long? ...

File Transfer speed slows down over time.
Is this normal? Over a long period of time, my file transfer/copying speed slows down. For example, at the beginning it's 80-90 mb/s. Then like 5-10 mins later it goes to 30 mb/s or lower. I notice this for big files, not so much with smaller files. I tried with my internal hard drive and the...

Abrupt Loss Of File Transfer Speed
At first, when I checked this on this new rig, file transfers ran between 60-100 mbps, but the last several times it has dropped off to 1-2 mbps. I checked the drive involved with HD Tune, and it performed about the same as it did on the first test, so I don't think that it is a hardware problem. ...

Slow wireless file transfer speed
Hi, I am new to windows 7 and I am experiencing a small network problem. I can only transfer files with 1,3MB/s which is only like 20% of what 56Mbps should teoretically perform. Here is my setup: Computer A: Laptop - connected with wireless-n (144 Mbps according to network and sharing...

File Transfer Speed
I have long wondered about the speed of transferring files from one drive/partition to another, but only recently found specific variations that evade any conclusions by myself. I have been downloading movies, which are destined to a partition on an internal drive, and which after organizing them,...
