Holy crap....do you have liquid cooling? Or is 4.6 a temporary number?

Actually, now that I think about it, what is the stock number? Maybe that's not as extreme as i initially thought....lol.

I haven't over clocked, yet. My WEI is 7.7 everything at stock/vanilla. I thought I could get 7.9 for sure

Sounds like that should be stable for you then.

My uncle left mine at 3.924 over the stock 3.0, figuring that it would be safe and stable enough for me to use for a long time....and thus far, he's been correct.*knocks on wood*

A lot of laptops in the past and the low end models today have 5400RPM hard drives.
I have noticed 5400RPM models will often give you a 4.9 on the hard drive WEI score.

So it depends on the RPM and other factors but I have noticed 4.9, 5.4, 5.9 WEI scores are common on laptop spinner hard drives.

My 7,200 RPM Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB in my desktop gets a 5.9, and it was my understanding that this was one of the fasted spinners. Then I just got a laptop with a 500GB spinner that runs at 5,400, and it also gets a 5.9....so I don't know what to believe anymore....lol.
