Yeah, I've just seen this article:

Achieving a perfect Windows Experience Index score in Windows 7

I bet this could do it!

Gigabyte Motherboard Helps Set World CPU Clockspeed Record for Ivy Bridge - HotHardware

It's really strange though, my CPU is top of the range and it gets 7.8, yet my graphics card is high end, but nothing special and that gets straight 7.9s.

I guess it's about time I put this up since I upgraded a while ago. I forgot to.

I might try pushing my CPU back up to 4.8 to see what WEI I get. It's at 4.5 atm.
    A Tad maybe

I hate Ati cards because they always have issues, and they don't supports Physx. I bought this HD 4870 X2 because it was at 80 Euros and it is a high-end card, and it is a major upgrade from a GTS 450...
Also Nvidia has better driver and games support (and have Physx, better 3D Vision, ...)

I'm searching for a cheap Socket 775/DDR2/Core 2 Quad motherboard since mine only supports Core 2 Duo 65nm.

Why not just step it up to a Core i5 or something?

because, if i go for i5, I must change motherboard, RAM, and PSU... This is a LAN party pc... I already have an i7 main system :)

That 7.03 GHz clock rate is only with 1 core active. It would score less than a 2.0 GHz 2630QM in WEI. However, with 7.0 GHz 6-core + HT Intel 3970X CPU, it will definitely get that 7.9 mark.
