Show Us Your WEI [3] Note
I think the only thing I've seen remotely close to 7.9 on the CPU was the i7-2600K at 4.7GHz. It scored a 7.8 on a rig I've seen. On my chipset, the i7-870, i7-875K and the i7-880 all score 7.7 when they are overclocked to 4.0GHz. I guess those are the only upgrades I could make, I think not.

A 4.2 on a 980 will get you 7.8, a 4.3 on 920 only 7.7
I have yet to see a 7.9 either. Raid0 ssd's and Nvidia 580's hit 7.9 is sub catagories, and 1648 memory speed at 6,7,6 will.

A Guy Indeed, I want a SSD quite badly, but it is, not by choice, low on my financial priorities right now. A 300GB Intel would cost me $500. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dv6t 6000 Quad Edition OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU 2nd Gen (Sandy Bridge) Intel Core i7-2720QM CPU 2.2/3.3GHz Memory 8GB DDR3 Graphics Card 1GB GDDR5 Radeon(TM) HD 6770M Graphics [HDMI, VGA] Screen Resolution 1366x768 Cooling Cooler Master SF 19 (home),Thermaltake Massive 23 LX (away) Hard Drives 750GB 5400 rpm Other Info Beats Audio, USB 3.0 |

Indeed, it does everything I want it to do. I can run 2 VMs, plus Skype, plus an MMO, while listening to music, etc. without running my CPU high. I think the last time I ran 2 VMs, my CPU usage was around 20%, though my RAM usage, at the highest I've had it, was 7.2GB. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dv6t 6000 Quad Edition OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU 2nd Gen (Sandy Bridge) Intel Core i7-2720QM CPU 2.2/3.3GHz Memory 8GB DDR3 Graphics Card 1GB GDDR5 Radeon(TM) HD 6770M Graphics [HDMI, VGA] Screen Resolution 1366x768 Cooling Cooler Master SF 19 (home),Thermaltake Massive 23 LX (away) Hard Drives 750GB 5400 rpm Other Info Beats Audio, USB 3.0 |

hybridfan, those are good numbers. You are right about the 5.9, but an SSD wil get you much higher. If it is 5400rpm or 7200rpm 3.5" or 2.5" it doesn't matter, SATA is faster than IDE/ATA Drives which can score less than WEI 5.9, but if it's a spinning Hard Drive under normal use it sticks at WEI 5.9. If write Cacheing is disabled in BIOS they can go a little over WEI 6.0 but that is it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate X64 CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition @3.6GHz Motherboard ASUS AM3+ CROSSHAIR V FORMULA S/L 990FX Memory 16GB (4 X 4GB) Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Ven Graphics Card 2 X ATI Sapphire HD 5770 1GB DDR5 @850/1200MHz in CrossfireX Sound Card Onboard 7.1 HD Audio/Bluetooth Stereo Audio/C-Media USB 5.1 Monitor(s) Displays LGW2363D 23", HANNspreeXM-S HANNSverona22" & 42"Samsung HDTV Screen Resolution 2880X900 Keyboard Accuratus Toughball 2.4GHz Mouse Microsoft Laser Mouse 5000/Emprex Cheetah 2000dpi Optical PSU Evo Labs 900W 80+ 80 plus Dual 12V ATX PC PSU Case Cooler Master Mystique 631 Cooling Corsair H50 With 2X120mm Push/Pull,3X 120mm (FrX1,SideX2).
