Does W7 On-Board Defrager Do Boot Time Defrags?

I have been searching and have not found any credible info on whether or not the stock W7 defragger does periodic boot time defrags to defrag those files that can't be accessed while windows is running. If it does do a boot time defrag, does the defragger have to be "turned on" (scheduled defrag time set), or will it still do a boot time if I have scheduling turned off?

No it doesn't have a option to do boot time defrag although i know of a tool that has the option that will let you do a boot defrag. Try the program Smart Defrag, it works great on my windows 7 laptop and desktop. I hope this helps you out.

Very small amount of files cannot be defragged but a lot can while the system is running. Microsoft put a lot of working in getting those files to be moveable while in use. So its less needed to have such a feature.

Thanks to both of you. I like SD2 too, and I am thinking of re-installing it to just utilize the boot time defrag option.
