    Computer Running Slower

My 1 month old comp is beginning to get very slow. I ran a virus and spyware/malware sweep and it came up clean. Any advise?

Plenty of advise. Can we start with your computer specs so we know what hardware we are dealing with?

You can find the cpu type and amount of memory installed by going to the start menu then right clicking on "computer" then clicking "Properties".

Is it a PC or a Laptop?

Also it would be useful for us to know how much of the cpu and memory is in use when the computer is running slow.

You can find this out by hitting the Ctrl Alt Del keys then selecting "start task manager" then selecting the "performance" tab at the top of that window.

    Cheers

    Paul.

    I have this

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 C{U @ 3.40GHz-3.70GHz
    Installed Memory (RAM): 4.0 GB
    System Type: 64 Bit

Right now CPU Usage is alternating between 0 and 3 percent. And the memory says 2.03GB.

Patience. or however the hel you spell it.

Look at this thread and see if any of it helps you out. Check out the first post (Greg's on page 7), and remember to thank Gregrocker, as he has done a lot to help us in these areas: Computer lags every couple seconds

You do not have to do this bit right here, it is just an option: Unless you are paying for an antivirus, uninstall all antiviruses you have and install this single antivirus (along with malwarebytes, as Greg mentioned above): Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials (Malwarebytes: Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download)

Defragement every hard disk drive that is not a solid state drive. do a disk cleanup of your main hard drive and delete everything you don't want. it is possible you have installed something that is slowing down your computer. As Greg suggested, make sure you do not have too many startup items when you turn on your computer. let me know if any of this solves your problem. if not, I'll help you further. reply back

Slow on any internet based apps. It takes 10 seconds to load a webpage... it used to take a half a second. My trading software is also lagging alot. I trade for a living so I need to get this fixed asap.
