A RAM Cleaner does not benifit your computer in anyway

Windows 7 is not XP and does not require any optimization programmes. The only maintenance task that would need to be carried out (Normally automatically) is Defragging your HDD

Pure snake oil is what they are. The only benefit that can be found with them if any is if you have a program that has a memory leak, and something like a memory cleaner can help with that. Other than that there is zero benefit to running one, and in fact they can and do hamper performance when they start going against Windows memory management routines.

RAM cleaners are snake oil. What they do is use windows' inbuilt capability that forces programs to use the pagefile or they deliberately allocate and then withdraw a huge amount of memory forcing the OS to page everything else that might be happening at the moment- both these tricks appear to suddenly free up RAM, when actually what has happened that you're using the pagefile instead of the much faster RAM.

What could such a program do? In essence it just forces Windows to push data out to the page file. It cannot fix memory leaks, not even the memory manager can do that.
