hello guys this should be very quick question ,but does it improve performance if i enable all my drivers as System Managed? its under System Properties/Advance tab/Virtual Memory normally the setting was in "Automatically manage paging files size for all drivers" i unchecked the box instead i set it up my self, now it shows

drive [Volume label] Paging File Size (MB)
C: System managed
D: System managed
E: System managed
F: System managed
I: System managed

Total paging file size for all drivers
Minimum allowed 16MB
Recommended 6142MB
Currently allocated 16380MB (this is was like 8000MB) before

the reason why do this cause i feel my computer is slow when reading, transferring, and especially extracting zip/rar files my whole system lags than before even i have 4GB of ram, my drive C: is 8GB available space i got stuck keeping that size i was afraid shirking it cause i screwed up last time that made me lose my precious files..

Hi kentucky777, all versions of Win7 does a good job in managing the page file. You only need it set for the drive containing the OS C: Drive.

If your computer is slow using the disk (which is precisely what you mentioned was slow), giving the system more paging file isn't going to make a bit of difference. The only thing that will make Windows faster to and from the disk is to get a faster disk (assuming this is a mechanical hard disk, you're fighting the laws of physics eventually). The best thing of course would be to get an SSD for the volume you do most of your work on, and store files you're not touching (your profile data, etc., usually) on a mechanical disk if you can't afford a very large SSD.

Yea, as sugest just have 1 Pagefile with the OS.
Or, if all spinning drives, you can have 1 on a secondary HD.

This may help slightly, when/if the PF is being used alot. Depending how much RAM you have.

But no need for a PF on every drive.
