log files

Through the course of all this I examined my system logs and found some to be seemingly cumbersome. My question is how important is it now that my system has been cleaned and I don't seem to be having issues, should I delete these files and start with a...'clean' slate. state? whatever. Thanks for your help.
I suppose I could copy them to a cd or whatever, but that just sseems to be like moving them to the attic...

I'm sure the lappy has a factory recovery partition you could use to get back to a 'new' state; before you do that have a look through the information presented in this tutorial linked below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.
