Windows 7: Ram from HP DV6000 to Toshiba A60 EQUIUM

Hey, I wonder one thing and that is whether it is possible and take the RAM chips from an hp dv6000 (1 gb) and put them into a Toshiba A60 EQUIUM?

HP DV6000 uses DDR2 PC5300.
Toshiba A60 uses DDR PC2700

So no, it won't work. The physical pin connections are slightly different.

DDR2 slot is different vs DDR.
If u will buy new a ram, buy the same brand and same PC (5300) just to make sure it has same timing.

You can use CPUZ to identify your ram.

2 things you'll need is:
- Check the memory tab look at the "type"
- Check SPD tab and note the PC (max bandwidth).

after you note the two, find the ram with that "type" and "PC" specs.

These are the specifications on this PC: Mobile Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHz. 1.85 GH, 192 MB RAM. Everything is so slow on this pc so therefore I will add 1 gb I want this to go a little better.

It says nothing about GB when I look at CPU-Z. But I know I can put in 1 gb ram max. It runs XP, but I will add Windows 7.

SPD: There is nothing Only Memory Slot Selection Slot # 1 Slot # 2 But nothing appears.

Memory: There are only Size 192 Mbytes and everything just so. During my PC so I can add a ram chip of about 1 gb. There is nothing in there when I open the lid. Sorry if this was a bit messy.

Crucial says max of 1GB per slot:

Memory Type: DDR PC2700, DDR (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 1.25GB
Slots: 1
Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.

So the link you posted looks like the right one to order.

Hello and thank you for your reply, so I can thankfully add 1 gb :-) Which one of the links do you mean? it from play.com or from crucial.com? But is not the piece from Play.com the same as the one from crucial.com? So I can order the chip from play.com? I do not think that I can buy from crucial.com. Since I live in Norway / Oslo. But I can buy from play.com as there is free shipping :-)
