    Moving/copying System Volume Information

When moving HDD data from one drive to another can/should you also move the hidden system files...ie System Volume Information and/or Recycle.Bin/MediaID.bin ?

Do these system files belong only to that particular drive...or do they go with the transfer of all data on say drive A to drive B ?

In the attached jpgs...do I move all files...including system Volume Information, etc from Drive M to drive L...?...or just move/copy :

    HOME_DESKTOP
    My backups
    WindowsImageBackup

    From M to L ?

    Thanks...TiminAZ

The system volume info folder stores system restore points and the recycle bin is for deleted files. Both are system folders and are automatically generated. If you dont use system restore, you can turn it off or reduce its disk usage so that it only stores recent points. Similarly you can reduce disk space used by the recycle bin.

I've messed around with SVI folder and found no clean way of backing it up or moving it. Best to leave alone.
