    13 second Motherboard POST! Help

The motherboard I have is the Intel DH55HC and the motherboard POST is over half my boot time. I have a ssd so Windows boots very quickly. Is there anything I can do to make this motherboard POST faster. There isn't an option for quick boot or rapid boot or anything like that.

Do you have anything plugged in to your USB slots during boot? Sometimes that can slow boot times down.

Also, google search for your problem found this:

Thank you for the reply. All I have plugged in is my wireless mouse & keyboard receiver, my speakers and my hdmi. That's it.

    Ok.

Try doing what my link suggests, remove the multi-card reader from the motherboard.
If it doesn't work you can always put it back on later if you need it.

I looked at that link but the issue is that I don't have a multi-card reader. I think it's normal, but even if it is it's not acceptable. Do you agree or am I making a big fuss?

    Hello everybody!
What is your total boot/reboot time? The person in the Intel thread had POST of 30 seconds, so 13 is very good. :)

Hey, my total boot time is approximately 32-38 seconds. But w/o the POST it would be 19-24 seconds!

Well you have every right to be upset if your computer isn't performing as you think it should. Strive for optimization!

You can look around in the BIOS for things that may speed it up, like disabling the BIOS manufacturer logo. But really, your boot time is quite good even for an SSD. Take a look at this thread.

See if your Bios has a quick boot option in it. Most bios have it.
