I think for the most part, OCZ or Intel is what would be the most recommended, and you can't really go wrong with either.

I have both a Intel and OCZ SSD.
Personally, I like the Intel better. Thats not saying OCZ is a bad choice. They are good drives.
    Just my personal choice.

The intel you showed me from specs looks slower than the ocz. So I think ocz it is!!!

You can not go by the Seq. read/Writes that are advertised. They really do not mean a great deal. its all about the 4K random.

Sometimes a drive looks faster in the advertised spec, when in reality it is not.

For example, if going by advertised specs, it would appear the OCZ Vertex I have is faster than the Intel Drive.
But thats not at all the case. The Intel is a good deal faster.

But thats a Vertex 1. The 2's may very well be different.

In the end, they are both a good choice. And the OCZ is a bit bigger from those linked, so may be the better choice for that aspect alone.

I have checked the iops, the ocz is twice the intel from the ones linked. The ocz is from the vertex 2 series. However much I like the look of the ocz, I just can't leave the mushkin Callisto deluxe behind , it has the same specs, I just don't know which to get!!! (both have 50000 IOPS)

Just had a look around, I have found one drive, I was wondering if it was worth the £40 more than the ocz vertex 2??? Also, are there any other better drives at this price (I am not able to go any higher than this price). Here is the drive:

that looks like a really good deal - and the ad says it comes with the 3.5 adapter too..

the speed advantage of an SSD is so great - looking for the fastest isn't really gonna make that much difference..

whatever you buy (I'd go for reliability) you'll be amazed at the difference it makes..

I think I am set, firstly, I need to check whether my chip set will take sata 3 (have got a friend who can do that) if answer yes will get corsair linked previously. If no, will get mushkin Callisto deluxe 60gb over ocz as have read far too many reviews with people saying that there vertex 2s had to be sent back as were faulty and died, also mushkin Callisto deluxe still utilizes 34nm NAND, which I think I prefer.
