Cannot delete folder with random name

After installing some updates or programms I got folders with names like this f383939301439d3084bdd763 on my external HDD. I cannot delete them from it. I tried to take ownership of that folders. But no luck. Unfortunately I have 64 bit Windows 7 and unlocker even 64 bit doesn't start up. Can you help me?

It's more than likely a leftover from an update and wasn't cleaned properly by the installer.

    Try this:

Right-click the offending folder, and then click Properties.

Click the Security tab followed by Advanced.

Click Owner then Edit and set the ownership to yourself.

Check Replace Owner on Sub-containers and Objects then click OK.

You should now be able to delete the offending folder.

It might pay you to create a restore point first, just in case.
