First off how much ram do you have? The other point is it's not a dramatic change but it does get faster in time as needed files get writing to the boost drive. Oh and of course you must configure the drive for readyboost and I recommend a drive with at least double the ram sticks in the system so with 2gb of ram use a 4gb flash drive and so on.
my computer has 2GB of ram but the thing i dont understand is as soon as i pluged in the 1GB flash drive my pc got faster but i dident see any change when i use the 4GB sd card
The speed will change a little over time as I mentioned ready boost will write needed info to the RB and will help things along. Not a speed boast like adding 2 or more gb's of ram but it will help. Leave the boost disk in and forget it.
In an odd way I miss my original quad core rig with 4 gb's of ram because when I inserted the flash card for ready boost it took all the flash memory I could give it and I could watch the card being hit by the flash of the readers led. Now with 16 gb of fast ram and an SSD drive sadly......sic.......I don't get the satisfaction of inserting a $5.99 usb stick drive to get faster response. Oh but it's not really a problem other than it cost more but it was a fun low cost speed bump!
