suddenly don't get low or critical battery warnings on laptop..

Have power management set to warn of critical and low battery, used to warn fine..
Stopped warning, now just shuts down.. Any ideas how I can restore warnings?

Also, having problems when I plug in set so display brightness should go to 100%, sometimes I have to plug/replug cause it stays dim from battery settings..

I did have some issue a few weeks ago with some new unrecognized power profile appearing (I guess after I installed some program or win update..?)

Any way to restore just the power profiles to default and undo any changes any programs may have made?

    * Can I check win 7 logs & reports specifically for changes made to the power management, perhaps?....

Control Panel | Power Options | make sure that radio button is on for plan you want to change | click on "Change Plan Settings" opposite the selected plan |

Click on restore defaults then the Apply button

Seeing as the problem started just a few weeks ago, and might possibly have been related to a download or update, you might think about doing a System Restore to the most recent time just before the download or update. That's probably your easiest option.
