    chkdsk?


    i am on win 7 starter.
    when i booted HP mini, CHKDSk started.
    and
    I copied what's on monitor; "deleting corrupt attribute record."
    what is "corrupt attribute"?

    Hi,

    This could point to some corruption in the OS files, or possible a larger issue with a potential failure of your hard disk.

    What make of hard disk do you have? Please find the appropriate tool for your hard disk from the link below, and then run the diagnostic report and paste the results here.

    As requested, please fill out your system specs.

    To easily find out more about the drive in your computer,
    use either the Speccy or the SIW link in my sig.

    SIW will give you more info.

    Please run chkdsk according to the procedure given in following tutorial:

    The results are visible using the Event Viewer. See following:

    Download ES-Tool for FDD (Direct Link).

    unable to run it.

    Try this one, after checking that it is appropriate for your hard disk:
