Hi Brink

I'm having a problem with my notebook. It keeps turning display off after idle for 2 or 3 minutes and going into sleep mode around five minutes after that. I did change and set power system in control panel many times but it did not work. I'm runing on Window 7 home basic 64 bit. I'm hoping you could help me on this. Thank you in advance.

Hello Taey, and welcome to Seven Forums.

While changing the advanced power plan settings, double check to make sure that your default power plan is still selected. It's a bit to easy to change it by mistake and not notice it. In addition, double check your Battery settings to see if the percentage levels may be set to cause this by mistake.

Hope this helps for now. :)

hi Brink please check if this works.

Prevent PC from Going in to Sleep Mode

Enter Sleep Preventer which is a lightweight tool that prevents computer from hibernate, sleep, dim the display or start the screensaver. Yes, this program can prevent your computer from doing all these tasks automatically. Sleep preventer is also a portable program so that you can carry it around in your USB flash drive.

The first time you start this tool, you’ll be presented options to configure this application. The interface is pretty simple and all you need to do is to just click on Prevent Sleep button to prevent the computer from going in to sleep mode.
The timer function can help you set a timer after which the computer can go to sleep mode. You can set the timer from 5 minutes to 2 hours. There’s also an option to “Allow display to sleep” if you want only display to enter the sleep (power saving) mode.
From system tray also you can toggle ON/OFF this program. It can be said that Sleep Preventer is a superb lightweight application that stops the computer from entering the sleep and hibernate mode.
