I successfully installed SpeedFan, which says that my HD temperature is 39 C, and the Windows y gagdet says it is66 C. I had thought that the gadget gave the temperature of the CPU unit, though.

It's a good thing I don't cuss, because if I did, the moderators would have to ban me. I looked inside my new computer for the first time today. There is only one fan, blowing directly on the CPU. The video card has a heat sink.

I paid 100 pesos (about $9.30 in US dollars) to have an exit fan installed.

My CPU temperature has dropped to 43 C (110F) which I understand to be normal.

I want to thank all of you for your good advice. After several hours, my computer stays at about 43 C (110 F) and under a load it rises to 48C (117F). That is far cooler than it had been.

No problem. I personally think that you won't need another fan for the winter, but for the summer it will be good to buy one more.

The proper cooling scenario is to have one exit case fan in the back and one intake fan in the front of the box, which has the additional benefit of keeping the hard disk(s) (plus the motherboard) cool.

This way, there is a constant stream of fresh air into your box and the CPU fan works with much more efficiency.
