And i can't change permission for thrusted installer to allow full control for windows folder
It is not possible to change the permissions of the entire windows folder manually ... whereas the take ownership registry entry does the reverse thing easily . That is why we try to not take the ownership of the entire windows folder .
May we look back at the root of the problem for a while ? What is the program you was trying to install ?
Oh... stupid me... ok, well i tried to install qvivo QVIVO Cloud Manager and it stops at 1 or 0% left to install and i get this error "there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor" i tried with my another pc which has windows 7 64bit installed too and it works perfectly.
I have never used such a program
The problem might be with the particular installer file itself. You should try another instance of the program installer to be sure .
Its like windows media center
I don't understand you O_o you want me to try another programor(i tried, other programs work fine) or to try download the same one from another source and try installing it again(if so, i tried already and i get the same error)
I tried older version 0.99 alpha 14 and it works but i can't create an account with the old version
Btw i told you i tried with my other pc with the same installer and it worked, but not with this one.
Whatever it may be, it sounds to be a problem not with your system . Probably somebody experienced with QVIVO may help us :)
i don't get it ? if its not a problem with my system then why it works on my other pc? i'll try to contact them but i doubt they will help me.
Lol funny thing, i get the error at the end when the qvivo is almost installed and i can open it(the program qvivo) and use it, but when i press ok the installation rolls back and the program is gone lol so the program installs normaly i guess, there is something else that i can't install ? xD
@cyclic thanks for reply, but did you read this thread ? i tried those methods and im getting "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service" and i don't have a restore point.
