I replace the ugly, primitive and hard to use explorer shell with something better - Emerge desktop.

My favorite Windows 7 tweak program is....Windows 7. I'm not sure how many more times it needs to be said, but the best tweaking advice for Windows 7 is to "leave it alone". Those third-party apps will do one of two things....nothing or cause issues.

Hello there!

Tweaking is fun until you know what your tweak and your confident enough to revert back. I used to tweak my PC, sometimes I screw up but I have backup I restore it or do a System restore So if your tweaking then make sure you have a backup and a System restore point.

RE: Tweak software

Best All-In-One Tweak program is probably Windows 7 Manager by Yamicsoft ( HOMEPAGE ). You have to pay but there is a thirty day trial if you want to check it out.

AND...listen to Captain Jack regarding restore points - always always always

Anyway, hope you like it!

Why should I pay for something I don't need?

I first installed Windows 7 two years ago, I've never tweaked it and it is running as well today as it did when I first installed it.

Save your money and let the operating system take care of business.

It's one thing to use a free app that yields nothing positive and call it "fun", but why pay for that result?

Hello, New to this forum and need your help. I install Win 7 off an SCCM server that is controlled by our corporate office in another country. They do not want to tweak the SCCM to improve my workload or give us more control to modify/script the SCCM to meet our needs. I have the daunting...

How can I change my computer and not lose use of my favorite software
There seems to be little option when replacing an old computer than to settle for Win8. However, for me this would entail replacement, at unacceptable cost, of much of my somewhat ‘antiquated’ but adequate software running on Win XP - WordPerfect 12, Lotus 1-2-3 9.6, Excel 2000 9.0, Adobe Photo...

Favorite diagnostic software
I have used various types of diagnostic software in the past, and I cannot say that I am pleased with the results of any of them. I have a computer that appears to have bad video memory right now... I figured this would be a great time to find a program that can actually confirm this. I've run...

Favorite Backup Software
Just wondering what your favorite backup software other than the default window feature is. I've heard of and seen too many issues with Windows backup to rely on it in the case that my computer fails. Right now I'm using Macrium Reflect Free Edition, but I've heard of many others and I figured I'd...
