Thanks for that link to Memtest86.
Could you help me a little bit
Should I download the Bootable ISO (.gz)
or the other one (zip)
once I download it, I have to burn the ISO to a cd right?
Then boot the computer with the cd in the drive...
Am I right about all this? I have not really played with many ISO files before | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Me OS Windows 7 Pro 64bit CPU IntelCore 2 duo E6750 2.66GHZ 1333MHz (775) 4M Cache Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Memory Corsair Twin 2X4096mb DDR2 800Mhz PC-6400 4-4-4-12 Graphics Card 256m Saphire X1950pro PSU Antec Earthwatts 500 Case Thermaltake Soprano case w/window Hard Drives 1TBSeagate Barracuda 7200 Internet Speed 8000 |

Am I right about all this? I have not really played with many ISO files before Download .zip - then unpack - you shoud get memtest86+-4.00.iso file - burn it on to CD (right mouse click on memtest86+-4.00.iso file and choose Burn disk image)- it will be bootable CD. Boot computer with CD in the drive and do memtest test. Ok.. I have run Memtest and it turns out that one of my new 2gig sticks if throwing up error (10 of them) over a 3 hour test.
My two original and 1 of the new ones are all good.
Looks like I will be contacting Corsair about this faulty RAM stick... Wish me luck!
Thank you very much to all who helped me with this problem.... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Me OS Windows 7 Pro 64bit CPU IntelCore 2 duo E6750 2.66GHZ 1333MHz (775) 4M Cache Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Memory Corsair Twin 2X4096mb DDR2 800Mhz PC-6400 4-4-4-12 Graphics Card 256m Saphire X1950pro PSU Antec Earthwatts 500 Case Thermaltake Soprano case w/window Hard Drives 1TBSeagate Barracuda 7200 Internet Speed 8000 |
