    Whats the best from these cpu's to run Win 7


    Pentium M 1.73GHz

    Celeron D1.6GHz

    Pentium 4 3.0GHz

    Sorry dont know any specs thats all i know...

    They all stink...? They are all single core processors, compared to a Intel Core 2 Duo even a low end 2GHz will out pace a P4 3Ghz.

    They will all be able to run W7, however out of those I would choose the Pentium 4 3.0GHz. Since they are all relatively old models, you might be better considering newer CPUs.

    Yeah I know, but its for my son at it will be his first computer just building a tower for him but wasnt sure what would be ok in it to run win7
    The P4 will it be ok or will XP be better and faster (sort of speak)

    Also are the 3 of these the same pins? if so what type are they as I may get another cpu depending on the board.

    If you're considering building him one, as opposed to buying a ready-assembled model, what is your absolute upper price limit that you are willing to pay, and where are you located? Based on that, others should be able to give you a guide on what is the best value for the money available.

    I have some parts kicking about in the house or just get him this...now dont laugh

    And try to upgrade it.. I have a 320GB and memory here just processor I was considering.
    As the boards I have and chips are f**ked!
