Hello ssandoval, my name's Dusty, I'll see what I can do.
Can you post a picture of your task manager (Processes tab) and order it (CPU) so that it lists the highest resource hogs at the top, descending. And right before you get a picture (Perhaps using snipping tool), do what you do to cause it to use 100% of the CPU.
Hopefully you are able to do this (assuming computer doesn't lock up) | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Inspiron M5040 OS Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64 CPU AMD E-450 APU 1.65 GHz Memory 4GB Graphics Card Built-in Radeon HD 6320 Graphics Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Cooling fan Hard Drives 500GB Internet Speed 2.86Mbps Download Speed, 2.85Mbps Upload Speed & 26ms Ping Antivirus Defender Browser IE10 |

Ssandoval,
I cannot really see the processes, I'm getting older. Could you post the pic via the snipping tool? Use Snipping Tool to capture screen shots
You might take a look at this and see if you can speed up your computer a bit, safely: Optimize Windows 7 | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Inspiron M5040 OS Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64 CPU AMD E-450 APU 1.65 GHz Memory 4GB Graphics Card Built-in Radeon HD 6320 Graphics Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Cooling fan Hard Drives 500GB Internet Speed 2.86Mbps Download Speed, 2.85Mbps Upload Speed & 26ms Ping Antivirus Defender Browser IE10 |

I can't see anything bad here.. It's all good. Your antivirius protection use 11% from CPU at the moment. Other is good.
Also as I can see, CPU Usage is 25%. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 CPU Intel Pentium G630 @2.7GHz 3MB Motherboard Asus P8H61-M LX3 PLUS Memory Corsair 4GB DDR3 / 1066MHz 9-9-9-24 2T Graphics Card Intel HD Graphics Sound Card Integrated Monitor(s) Displays Philips 192EL Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Keyboard Delux K5108 Mouse Genius PSU Hantol 500W Case Delux costumized... You are using Kaspersky Internet Security Suite? That looks like it is taking a heafty 11%, were you running it just then? If you weren't, I myself would consider another AV, but up to you. Make sure you use the Kaspersky uninstaller to remove as it can leave nasty things behind if not removed correctly, if you wanted to do that. I recommend MSE if you do.
This next one is using 5%: If you don't have a Tablet PC and don't want an unnecessary process eating up resources, you can uninstall Windows Journal from the add/remove programs in the control panel. Alternatively, you could go to Regional Settings > Language > Details and remove Advanced Text Services. - Neuber
Your sidebar is using 2%, but it is up to you if you disable it or not.
And also, Stalker is right seeing your CPU at 25%.

Do you generally have other programs running when it happens? | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Inspiron M5040 OS Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64 CPU AMD E-450 APU 1.65 GHz Memory 4GB Graphics Card Built-in Radeon HD 6320 Graphics Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Cooling fan Hard Drives 500GB Internet Speed 2.86Mbps Download Speed, 2.85Mbps Upload Speed & 26ms Ping Antivirus Defender Browser IE10 |
