LOL - I did not even know the word " metrosexuals ". Had to look it up on Wikipedia.

But for the rest I understand your logic. I would never buy any Apple product - would not like to live on an island with the island tzar telling me what I can do and what not.

But one has to admire their business strategies - especially in iPad and iPhone. They set this up in a very smart way.

True whs,

Macs are used a lot in High End music studios... very expensive products indeed.

The iPhone and iPad.

Wonderful marketing and very good industrial design. Remember Apple did also very well with iTunes it really got the digital consumer revolution well underway.

But well, quality control is not what it used to be. Many new macs suffer from poor build and well its expensive to replace every year due to heavy djing use. My Asus cost in total 743 Euros .. this included 4 gigs extra ram and a 64 GB SSD ... with a few tweaks is better that the Mac book Pro 13 inch which is about 1,400 Euro... for similar specs.

And they are really common in DJ booths around Berlin..lol I like to be different... or is It my lady spends the extra money on boots and shoes..lol I dunno.

Microsoft did well with Windows 7.. and if you shop around and do your homework you can get a really good machine for a fraction of the cost of a Mac.

I know the shoe story. I had to make room for 400 pairs. Unbelievable what the girls can invest in shoes. Once I had to make a 900KM round trip into France (with an overnight stay) for a pair of shoes.

WTF!

I love my Lady to bits... but she is also shoe and boot crazy.. oh and hats and belts. Every week its a new pair AND It all has to colour matched TO HER other stuff! Mind you She looks very classy indeed her own distinctive style...

I wouldn't have it any other way .. but we both joke about her obsessiveness.

I'm an ex Metosexual I have 14 pairs of trainers all immaculate, but I dropped the Mac habit years ago... I'm clean now... I went to Betty Fords Clinic for six months to stop the random urge to by a iPad and the Steve Jobs book!

So we both have our weirdness.. lol

Okay,
So the rule is never defrag your SSD. However when running the Windos (performance) experience rating I get a message
Saying that my disk speed rating is 5.9 (same as before I added the SSD and move windows to it. The message continues, saying The performance might be better but the test could not be run because it requiers 1GB of contiguous storage. How do I arrange that? (I have 88gb empty onb the drive) or do I even need to???

Thanks, Chuck

brotman, this is a very old thread and you may be better served starting your own thread. The answer is never, under any circumstances defrag an SSD. When you start your own thread, please post a screenshot

0% fragmented, for seven months
Never thought too much about it until reading some threads here. My Disk Defrag was set to once a week which I think is default. AFAICT my disks have always been 0% fragmented. I don't think it is defragging them to get them to 0, they are not fragmented to any degree, according to Windows. ...
