very slow boot but running fine, new install

Hi, I am running a P5N-D motherboard ( bios 1401) with an intel core 2 quad Q9300, Rad HD3800 series and I have some problems since last week. It started with an error 0cx00000e9 someting About USB being disconnected. Since I couldn't figure out the problem I reinstalled windows 7 64bit. The install was really slow. I tested the hd, fine, the ram, fine, processsor, fine, deactivated USB no change, new video card, still no change. Now tne computer is really really slow to boot up. Once it's running, it's fine but turning it on can take over 5min. I am running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Type msconfig in the start box.

Open msconfig and look at the startup tab.

Got a lot of stuff checked there???

Uncheck everything except your antivirus and reboot.

See if it starts faster then.

If not, go back to msconfig and look at the services tab.

Put a check in the "hide all Microsoft services" box.

How many services are then still shown in the Window? You may not need to have most of them running.

This could be a number of things, but if it's a fresh install it's more likely to be a hardware issue.
My first guess would be motherboard, and my second guess would be the hdd.

An easy thing you could do is enable bootlogging the next time you boot up. Press f8 repeatedly before windows boots and select enable boot logging from the menu. It creates a file called ntbtlog.txt, that lists all the drivers that are installed during startup. Then post the output of that log back in here.

Problem solved, on the install windows decided to put an amd process in the service tab wich was of course doing a conflict with the intel processor. Msconfig screen removed the amd process and now the computer boots in under a minute.
