Slow start up but computer seems to be working fine otherwise

My computer was a little slow to start and I found the PC HealthAdvisor was forced to "call" in to activate the download and they took remote control of my computer. Suddenly something that was just meant to tweak my computer to speed it up turned into my computer was in "critical" condition and in need of me spending $200 for a microsoft certified tech to fix it. They were using a very hard sell showed me my computer had 20,000 events lots of warnings and errors. He told me my computer was in danger of crashing I should have taken care of it better. I am a software user and by that I mean I can use the basic office package and do some neat tricks with it, but by no means an expert and I can get around in the internet again certainly can not make it do everything it has the ability to do. I have no clue what an event code is let alone how the heck to fix it. and I really don't have $200 bucks right at this point to have them fix it. So any one go any ideas where to start with the 20,000 errors?

I would first try to set it back to an early restore point and if that does not help reinstall Windows from the recovery partition (but for that you have to save your own files first). If you still have the slow boot problem, we can try to fix that - this is usually pretty easy.

But in no way pay those suckers $200 - that is ludicrous.

If you need any help with the above mentioned steps, let us know.

Yeah: ignore them if they aren't causing problems.

Get PC Health Advisor off your computer.

If necessary, do a System Restore to a time prior to installing PC Health Advisor.

Computer works fine in safe mode, extremely slow and freezes otherwise
Hi I've just recently started experiencing freezing during start-up. It started during a game of League of Legends, and has been progressively getting worse. It's to the point where it'll take minutes to log on and when it does eventually get to my desktop the task bar will have a loading symbol...

Computer either BSOD's after start-up, or runs fine
So my computer seems to have about a 2/3 chance of BSODing in the first few minutes of running. After that, I encounter almost zero problems, aside from some weird issue with Windows Update (I haven't been able to install any updates), but that's for another thread. The BSOD seems to show one of...

Computer working fine until Windows Update
I have a HP Pavillion a1640n with Windows 7 Home 32 bit edition installed. I went to use it and it was on, and it had installed updates (even when I specified for it not to, as I had a bad experience before). And it restarted. When it restarted it then was in a Start up recovery loop. When I...

New laptops wireless inexplicably slow, everyother computer runs fine.
I purchased a new laptop, and have been having numerous issues with windows 7, including the wireless internet being insanely slow. I've tried other wireless adapters to no avail, and every other computer in the house, be it wireless, or not runs perfectly, with the speed tests all running about...

Slow Wireless Speeds - Laptop is fine, Desktop is SLOW
Hello all, First off, I have been searching these forums for several days and have seen a number of people reporting slow wireless connections in Windows 7. Which was comforting, knowing I was not alone - but unfortunately I've yet to find the answer in any of the older posts, so I am hoping...
