Download something like Windirstat or TreeSizeFree. Both can show you which folder is consuming all of the space.

In my opinion you simply have too small C: drive (24.6 GB). Consider replacing it with bigger, otherwise you are going to be pretty much all the time on red.

I'm guessing you either have a small SSD or created a tiny partition on a larger drive. If the first, you'll probably want to get a biger drive. If the second, you might want to rethink your partition sizes.

I would consider 25GB far too small for OS/programs.
Personally:
64GB min SSD (Many think this is plenty).
100GB on a 500+GB spinner

when I get around to buying an SSD I'll be going for 128GB (Crucial).

Check the shadowstorage. The cmd command is:

vssadmin list shadowstorage

Hmm, the shadowstorage is NOT the culprit. There is less than 1GB allocated. You can leave that alone.

Shadow Copy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's directly related to System Restore

This morning I noticed that all of a sudden my C: drive is no longer in the red... I now have 30GB of free...

Where is my free space?
Hi, I have a 60gb OCZ ssd, so space is at a premium. I did disable hibernation for starters which helped. If I go to Windows Explorer & right click on my drive, it says I am using 42.3GB with 17.1GB free. If I go into my C drive & select all & then right click & goto properties, it says I...
