Windows 7 slow after elimination of dual-boot

a few hours ago I decided to remove the dual boot on my computer, uninstalling Windows XP.
after doing this, I booted windows 7 and I noticed that your computer's performance declined (for example, now takes twice as long to start).
    What has happened?

Do you still have a dual boot menu shown in the boot tab of msconfig?

Please post back a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu: Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums - Windows 7 Forums

Then start working through these troubleshooting steps

    i solved the problem:
Microsoft Security Essential founded a virus in my pc, i deleted it and my computer returned fast.
now the question is: how this virus entered in my pc? why it decreased system performance?

Viruses can assuredly impact performance, especially if they infect System Files.

I would run a second Full Scan with Malwarebytes, repeated weekly or monthly to be vigilant.

Check System files to make sure none have been damaged: SFC -SCANNOW Command
