Print Spooler error in Event Viewer

Hi,

While checking out the Event Viewer a few days ago I saw this entry:

The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\UNIDRVUI.DLL, error code 0xc1. See the event user data for context information.

The printer is a HP C-5580 Photosmart All-In-One that I have been using for the last few years while using another computer with WinXP 32-bit.

First off ... I have to say I can get the printer to do most everything it did with my old WinXP. One of the things I can't do is check my ink levels as I could previously. I am just concerned about the above error message in Event Viewer.

The original software disk that came with it was for WinXP. However, when I hooked it up to this new computer running Win 7 it worked right away.
I tried downloading and installing a new Win 7 64-bit driver for it but got a fatal error while trying to install it.

I am wondering if I uninstall the printer via Device Manager and then reboot will the computer recognize it so I will still have a printer. Perhaps then it would ask me to reinstall the Win 7 64-bit driver I found for it.

Just curious if anyone has any suggestions as to how I might approach this error message.

Thanks and regards,

Hi again,

I did a little more research on this print spooler error message and discovered the following:

(1) It only happens when I try printing something from the computer from the 'Open Office' file folder.

(2) If I print something from the same folder but specify 'Open with' ... 'Word Pad' it prints just fine and there is no error message in Event Viewer.

I will keep searching for the fix but if anyone has any suggestions after reading this update I would be glad to hear them.

Thanks and regards,
