Cannot renable hibernation. Hibernation not working. Hey, I recently bought a brand new Tune-Up Utilities 2012 software .I disabled hibernation file using tune up utilities. That time I don't use hibernation function . But now I realized how hibernation is a better option then shutdown . So I renabled hibernation file again using tune-up, as you can see in the screenshot. But now when I hibernate, the computer locks with a blank screen instead of hibernation . Also the file 'hiberfil.sys' is in C:/ folder. What to do now, how to renable hibernation?

Reason: Sorry I made a misktake. Earlier I wrote "When I click on hibernate it goes to sleep." It was incorrect, so I corrected it.

Manually enable it in your power scheme I would suggest.

Perhaps it's a good idea to steer clear of so called "tune up" programs that may make changes to your PC that you don't fully understand and which it evidently fails to "undo" in addition...
Perhaps a repair install would benefit your computer... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Lenovo USB laser "Thinkpad" Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Crucial M4 SSD, archives on twin Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX, 2TB, 7200rpm HDD's, Samsung Ritemaster CD/DVD Burner... Option one in that tutorial is pretty straight forward..... | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq sr5410f case OS Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1 CPU AMD X2 4450E @ 2.3 ghz Motherboard Biostar MCP6P M2+ Memory 4.0 g Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT , 512mb Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays auria eq2367 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard logitech wave cordless Mouse logitech LX8 cordless laser mouse PSU 250 watts Case Compaq Cooling couple fans Hard Drives 1 tb Hitachi HDT721010SLA scsi, 500 gb external Internet Speed comcast hi speed 19 dn 8 up Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser IE10 Other Info Laptop specs: HP g7-1365dx /

Option one in that tutorial is pretty straight forward..... I followed the instructions but still no luck. Actually when I click hibernate, it locks my computer.
I am giving a screenshot of my hiberfil.sys file. Look at the screenshot. It says that hiberfil.sys has a size of 2.99 GB. But according to this tutorial Hibernate - Enable or Disable says that hibernation file (C:\ hiberfil.sys) will be the same as the amount of installed RAM on the computer. I have 4 GB RAM. Is it weird? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Lenovo Ideapad Y550 (4186) OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 / Ubuntu 12.10 x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 Ghz Motherboard LENOVO KIWB1 (U2E1) Memory 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 398MHz Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M 1GB Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 15 inch (1366x768@60Hz) Screen Resolution 1366*768 Keyboard Build In Mouse Touchpad Hard Drives 320GB Hitachi HITACHI HTS545032B9A300 (SATA) Internet Speed 30 KBps (Dial up) |

I tried all steps to enable or repair hibernation function but no solution found. So I reinstalled Windows 7 . Now I will ask Tune-up company for a refund . | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Lenovo Ideapad Y550 (4186) OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 / Ubuntu 12.10 x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 Ghz Motherboard LENOVO KIWB1 (U2E1) Memory 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 398MHz Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M 1GB Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 15 inch (1366x768@60Hz) Screen Resolution 1366*768 Keyboard Build In Mouse Touchpad Hard Drives 320GB Hitachi HITACHI HTS545032B9A300 (SATA) Internet Speed 30 KBps (Dial up) |

It is always a good idea to System Restore Point - Create
Before making any changes and to have a system image available if that doesn't fix it. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup Imaging with free Macrium
Right after a fresh install is a good time to image, then another after all your updates and programs are installed. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq sr5410f case OS Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1 CPU AMD X2 4450E @ 2.3 ghz Motherboard Biostar MCP6P M2+ Memory 4.0 g Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT , 512mb Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays auria eq2367 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard logitech wave cordless Mouse logitech LX8 cordless laser mouse PSU 250 watts Case Compaq Cooling couple fans Hard Drives 1 tb Hitachi HDT721010SLA scsi, 500 gb external Internet Speed comcast hi speed 19 dn 8 up Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser IE10 Other Info Laptop specs: HP g7-1365dx /
