Solved Cannot renable hibernation. Hibernation not working.

Hey, I recently bought a brand new Tune-Up Utilities 2012 software:).I disabled hibernation file using tune up utilities. That time I don't use hibernation function;). But now I realized how hibernation is a better option then shutdown:sleepy:. So I renabled hibernation file again using tune-up, as you can see in the screenshot. But now when I hibernate, the computer locks with a blank screen instead of hibernation:mad:. Also the file 'hiberfil.sys' is in C:/ folder. What to do now, how to renable hibernation?

Manually enable it in your power scheme I would suggest.

C/panel > Power Options > Plan (choice) > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > Sleep (options)

No luck. Still not works.

Have you tried doing it in windows instead of Tuneup utilities?

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/819-hibernate-enable-disable.html

No I don't tried it in windows:rolleyes:. I disabled it using Tune-up. Also renabled using tune-up but hibernation doesn't work:cry:.

Perhaps it's a good idea to steer clear of so called "tune up" programs that may make changes to your PC that you don't fully understand and which it evidently fails to "undo" in addition...

Perhaps a repair install would benefit your computer... ;)

Since it is a windows feature, can you try enabling it in windows before rolling your eyes and shedding tears?

Option one in that tutorial is pretty straight forward.....
I followed the instructions but still no luck. Actually when I click hibernate, it locks my computer.

I am giving a screenshot of my hiberfil.sys file. Look at the screenshot. It says that hiberfil.sys has a size of 2.99 GB. But according to this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/819-hibernate-enable-disable.html says that hibernation file (C:\hiberfil.sys) will be the same as the amount of installed RAM on the computer. I have 4 GB RAM. Is it weird?

Chalk it up to a lesson learned.

It is always a good idea to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/697-system-restore-point-create.html

Before making any changes and to have a system image available if that doesn't fix it.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/663-backup-complete-computer-create-image-backup.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/73828-imaging-free-macrium.html

Right after a fresh install is a good time to image, then another after all your updates and programs are installed.
