    Power Settings

Regardless of the interval I set in Power management, the screen always dims at 20 minutes and the machine goes to sleep at 30 minutes. Always, regardless of setting.

Is there a fix for this behaviour ?

Go into "change advanced power settings" where you choose to never turn off the monitor. Scroll down and make sure the "display" (and anything else...HD, etc...) setting is "never" there also. Be logged on as administrator when doing this.

Well, I didn't want it never to turn off screen and system, only to set screen at perhaps 30 minutes and system at perhaps an hour.

    I'll have a look. Thanks.

By way of a PS: It's a desktop so battery life isn't an issue.

I've found that if I let the Avast screensaver run, it prevents the machine from hibernating, which is more or less what I wanted.
