Aero problems, choppy animations, Intel HD3000

Hi,

I've got a weird problem with my new Vaio laptop S series..

The Aero animations are a bit choppy, it's missing a few frames, nothing really dramatic but I'd rather have it smooth..

The thing is, when I change to windows basic, then back to Aero, the effects are smooth again, how is this possible? When I reboot I have to repeat this process again.

Can someone explain to me what happens when I switch to basic and then to Aero? How can I make this permanent so I don't need to repeat it again?

Thanks!

I've installed the latest drivers, I think I found the problem but I have no idea how to solve it,
whenever I restart the UxSms service, Aero works smooth again, how can I restart the service automatically?

I've tried using a startupscript
NET STOP UXSMS
NET START UXSMS

this works but.. isn't there another way? Is there a way to fix UxSms so it starts normal?

Changing card graphics(HD3000 intel) in Dell Laptop. Is it possible?
Hi, I'm not sure if I'm posting this thread in the right section, its my first thread post here. I have a Dell n5110 i5(intel HD 3000 graphics),that I bought last year to assist me with my studies. I didn't care much about the graphics when I purchased it. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I read...

Disabling more Aero animations and "X" button "glow"
While there are a (small) handful of features of Aero that i'd like to use, there are many more that slow down the UI and/or make it distracting that I can't find a way to disable. (I even tried the "Basic" theme but it has a bug that discards font size settings made under the now-misnamed...

No restore up/down animations in Aero?
Is my PC misbehaving or are there actually no restore up/down animations in Aero? Windows just snap directly into full screen and back to window mode with no animation whatsoever. How did they miss that? The minimize/maximize animations are so beautiful, why didn't they do the same with restore...

Win7 Aero - Windows have a choppy "delay" when opening?
Hello, Is anyone else seeing a strange (but very very quick) choppy kind of lag when a opening any dialog or window in Win7 RTM. I used to be in the "turn off animations" crowd during the Vista phase but I decided to let Aero go full on in the RTM of Win 7. Immediately after the install...
