    Sfc /scannow error

When I run a SFC /SCANNOW inside CMD in Administrator mode . I get up to 14% and it errors out.

Try running a command prompt from the Windows 7 DVD or Startup up CD.

Just try and try again until it completes. I also experienced this problem before but I ran it for about 5 times and it eventually completed its scan.. It may take some time though..

It often can not fix all errors in one pass.
I always suggest to run it at least 3-4 times or until errors are gone.
    Sometimes it works.

You just leave the CMD window open when it is done with a pass and type the command again. Hit Enter.
    Then again etc.

I ran it more then just once and it always stopped at 14% with that same error as it shows on the image.

I ran chkdsk /r . Restarted the PC and it ran all the way up to 5 of 5 . Came with a volume is clean . Reran the sfc /scannow and got the same issue I had before where it stopped at 14% with an error ( on image )

Note: Reinstalling Windows ( or a repair install ) is the last thing I want to do. I want to see if I could fix this issue without a repair .

    Added sfcdetails.txt file
By the way of the .dll files I modified for the theme I use and my version of Windows 7 Ultimate x86 SP1 .

    Hello VistaKing,

Did you already try running the sfc /scannow command in a command prompt at boot like in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below?

SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
