Windows 7 - Compaq CQ62-A25SA Laptop Freezes on battery power Event ID 41

Hi Guys & Gals,


This is my first post so sorry if im missing some info, let me knowwhat im missing and i'll slap it on.

Here it goes.

I've installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Pro x64 on the laptop and everything worked perfectly on and off battery but was missing the Graphics card driver and sound driver. Have used windows update to install both drivers and the laptop would then freeze and the picture would drain from the top of the screen to bottom when unplugged from AC.

Have reformatted the laptop and reinstalled 7 again but this time used the hp drivers from their website with the same results I then downloaded the drivers from the manufacturers websites.

Battery holds a good 1.30 charge, laptop is missing the cmos battey as it was dead, hp no longer stock the battery and cant find a new battery anywhere only used.

The hardware that I needed drivers for where Realtek High Definition Audio and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series.

I did notice that if I change the 'Minimum processor state to 100% in the power setting power then the laptop runs fine.

CPU: AMD V120 2.20GHz
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 250GB
O/S: Windows 7 Pro x64 VLK

Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated
