Do what you did before.

Go back to msconfig and uncheck all but antivirus.

If that does not solve it, something else is going on.

If stuff that was unchecked yesterday is checked today, ask yourself what you have done in the intervening time that might have caused that.

Run Soluto, it will tell you which processes eat the time. Read the article to get an idea what it does.

Format the computer. Nowadays HP and Dell bring too much crap on their PCs. Oh, and don't get too shabby about the PC being new. Format it, and you'll really love your new machine

Here are some fuller steps to Clean up factory bloatware.

If this doesn't regain quick starts with instantaneous performance I would consider Clean Reinstalling Windows 7 to shrug off the factory bloatware and useless factory utilities which have better versions built into Win7.

You can save a Win7 backup image externally, then boot the installer to clean reintalll Win7 following these steps to get a perfect clean reinstall of factory OEM: Reinstalling Windows 7

Make your factory Recovery disks first. If it's an HP you can keep the Recov Partition too which will still boot after clean reinstalling over C.

So if I create a system image recovery now then go to advanced settings and "use a system image you created earlier to restore your computer" will that now just reinstall the laptop to the way it is now
