So the title says it all, i dont know why does this happen, but its quite often. Heres a picture.

You can try updating to the latest .NET.

i have current version of NET Framework 4, so anyone know why is this happening?

Leave it alone. You are only using 67% of memory in the screenshot. Applaunch.exe is only active when you are running a program thus you are running a program which requires memory. Chrome is one such application that uses. NET, for updating for example.

pls,im having the same problem,applaunch keeps taking memory until it gets to a stage that i cant move the mouse and everything hangs,and ill have to shut down the system,pls help me..

finally stopped it,i used process explorer instead of taskmanager,i was able to see the processes involved directly and indirectly with applaunch.exe,so i first searched for the files exact locations,killed their processes on the explorer and deleted the files...and afterwards restarted d system...
