Windows 7 takes 20 to 30 seconds after Please Wait screen

Thanks for your reply, would you mind sharing with me the details of which process it was or how you solved the problem? Because I have tried tools like MalwareBytes-Antimalware, Microsoft Security Essentials and CCleaner which were recommended by one of the members of this forum but so far no luck . So please share the details as to how you solved it.

I recommend doing this. When you do this it doesn't mean these programs don't start when needed. It means they don't start until needed. They will work fine.

I have already done that and it didn't help as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I am not sure why you felt the need to repost this.

Yes I didn't disable every single software that was there but I did all of the ones that came with the machine from the HP and few others too which I thought were installed later and could be disabled. The reason is that it seemed too risky for me to disable all of them blindly. I disabled the HP software based on the advice of one member in the thread saying that Windows 7 had all the drivers to cover for them so that made sense and I did that. Although it did cause a small issue, the laptop was still functional and it wasn't unusable.

I appreciate all the replies so far but there is some more needed :) and one of the members in the thread mentioned he had the same issue and he resolved it but he didn't share the details so I am waiting for him to reply.

The problem has been resolved but not by DISABLING all of them but ENABLING all of them instead. I might have disabled some software that was needed I suppose which put in the delay somehow. I am not sure exactly what software that might have been.

I'm no expert BUT some PCs like HP products and some others have proprietary programs that are very intertwined with Windows OS and disabling them can actually cause delays. One that stands out is the HP PC health check up.
