    High physical memory

    Hi,

    I've got a bit of a problem that worries me a little. Last November I bought my laptop, an Asus N53S-S1766V. It has 6GB memory but my physical memory is really high for the amount of applications running. My firefox going up to 200MB from time to time, depending on what I am doing.

    This doesn't seem too normal to me. Anyone knows what to do?

    Thanks in advance,
    Casp

    Yes, firefox does use a lot. However an average of 144MB when browsing a website like this one, is definitely not normal. Also, before I reinstalled my Windows Live Messenger, my Windows Live Messenger went up to 600MB with 2 chats open. That's definitely not normal to me, definitely not.

    This is what I mentioned before;

    I've seen firefox eat 2.8GB of ram, so aything less than 200MB is really nothing.

    I agree, you're RAM usage is OK, maybe lower than the norm. Here's me with one tab open in IE8, this page here.

    Do yourself a favor and us a favor. Stop worrying about your RAM you have way to much to micro manage it. Just STOP! 144 MBs is NOTHING! Utilizing your RAM makes things faster not slower.

    One buys lots of ram to use it. That's good. A meg here or there isn't worth talking about. I'm done.
