Unable to perform SFC /scannow in Windows 7

I am the Administrator.

When I go to CMD and type "sfc /scannow" I get the following message:

"You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility."

Please advise what to do in order to run sfc /scannow.

Thank you.
