Windows 7: CPU at 25% Only After Sleep Mode (Only one core and not the other 3)

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
CPU at 25% Only After Sleep Mode (Only one core and not the other 3)

After my computer wakes from sleep mode, Core#1 shoots up to 70-95% and the rest are normal (1-3% at idle).

I have DPC latency check with no spikes. Updated several drivers. I did a clean reinstallation of windows home premium 64bit. Re did the latency checker again and updated the drivers again. Still noting. I have been up and down every forum and cannot get help for the life of me. I would love to have the computer wake up from sleep mode without these issues.

Also, ran malwarebyes with noting, superantispyware with nothing so I guess I will rule out a virus.

I ran process explorer (and another third party explorer) and it was the Deferred Call Procedure, or something like that.

I dont know what to do....

What do you need to help me with this?

Ok. I just did another clean install. Nothing extra is on this computer. I cannot put it into sleep mode when it's in safe mode. I disabled all services and rebooted the computer and still nothing. It's a "system" type of process. Called "interrupts"

I have searched this forum and having no luck with updating the drivers, a clean install. DPC latency shows no spikes still. Process explorer still shows Core 0 @ 80+% and the other Cores are low.

What is the best way to update the drivers without having them fail on me. Fail, as in showing the exclamation point in the device manager?

Anyways, I am getting desperate. Sleep mode would be wonderful.

Nevermind. Another clean install and updated the drivers for the third time worked.

Good to hear - note that network drivers in Windows, when they don't support all of the RSS features properly, will default to one CPU for network packet scheduling and offload (this can be also bad if the code "breaks" after a power event, like sleep). It does sound like this is what was happening, but of course it's just an educated guess at this point.
