Not sure if this is the right section but i think it is. Well a few days ago all of a sudden my computer started slowing down and eventually lag while playing a game then each day it progressivly got worse, i cant even game anymore without getting lagged out every 5-10 minutes. I've tryed scanning and only thing i got is a few cookies. I looked at my task manager and i noticed when my cpu crashed i started to lag. I dont know where to go anymore but i do not want to do system restore or reinstall my OS

thedomdom12,
OK so it's a laptop. Let me ask does it start out ok then slow down? When was the last time you cleaned it out real good with compressed air? Heat will force the system to slow to protect itself. I like to open it up completely at least once a year and clean the fan and all the channels completely but each lappy is different. Otherwise a good method is the vacuum on the exhaust side and compressed air on the intake and leave the vacuum sucking long before and after the blasts of air on the intake side. Heat is the killer of all things electronic, likely I'm telling things you all ready know. Let's start there as you are telling me you ran your protection in safe mode and it's coming back clean. How old is this unit as well.

My computer doesnt crash at all it just really slows down at a point where i wait 10-20 minutes when i can finally get back on the internet. Ill upload a screenshot in a second
Edit: Screens are taking forever to upload but my cpu is usually 50-65 and im ok but i lag at times right there. Sometimes for no occasional reason cpu goes to 0-5 and i just cant do anything. I just want to game without getting lagged out.

I sounds as if you may need to research your warranty options. I would back up all your data and important files and then be ready to send back under an RMA of take to an approved repair center. This sounds like a mechanical problem with either the mobo/cpu or possibly the hard drive (not as likely). Have you considered backing up and doing a clean install of windows from the provided discs? This could (long shot) be worth a try and at least then 1) the drive is cleaned and 2) Eliminates the hard drive/viruses as the issue possibly.

Computer massively slowing down at low cpu problems?
