Need to use chkdsk on SD card, Advice required

I have some pics corrupted (part greyed) and it has been suggested I verify the card using chkdsk.

I shall be using the computer's inbuilt card reader, drive E on my computer, for this.

How, please, do I go about setting up the check?

    Click Start then click Computer.

Highlight the drive you want to check, right-click it then click the Tools tab.

    Under Error-checking, click Check Now>Apply>OK.

    Thank you! :)

May I extend the question somewhat?

That's proved the card is OK, but having had some corrupted pics on it, I would also like to check there's nothing amiss with the drive itself. Is that possible?

The program may be a little complicated to use, but PhotoRec has saved the day for many folks. :)

If it's the images you're trying to recover, this program is quite good: Recuva - Download
