Windows 7 Backup Error 0x80070032?

Dear all

does anybody know what Windows 7 Backup Failure with Errmsg 0x80070032 means? I've searched the internet and saw various Vista posts mentioning services which are not enabled (Task Scheduler..)

However, this does not apply to Windows 7. What does it mean?

Welcome to sevenforums..

This error happens if the Windows Event Log and the Task Scheduler services are disabled. Check if those services are disabled or not. And if they are in a disabled state enable this two services, restart the windows and try to backup again.

you can try this registry...
Merge it to your registry and reboot your computer.
sc.reg

its from vista but give it a try....

the only difference to my actual settings in the registry I see is:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Schedule\Enum]
"0"="Root\\LEGACY_SCHEDULE\\0000"
"Count"=dword:00000001
"NextInstance"=dword:00000001
I give it a try and let you know

I was able to pinpoint the issue causing the error

I used the following tutorial to include a network share as a symbolic link into a library

Libraries - Include a Network Folder

This symbolic link is also present in a library marked to be backed up. It seems that Windows 7 Backup has not expected this trick, as it fails with the mentioned errorcode. If the symbolic link is removed, backup runs smoothly.

Will this be taken up?

Server Error

I have the same Problem. I thought it was because there was something amiss in the RPC services but after I checked everything was running. Still haven't solved it MS backup does not run with this error.

If the mentioned network place is included via the 2nd option of the tutorial (Offline Files) Windows Backup completes, however it says that some files are skipped. The message exactly points to the affected network location.

Any idea how to get around it, without excluding it from the backup?
