Random high cpu when on desktop and no memory left

Hey,
I had noticed last week or so that my CPU was running at 30% when on the desktop, it usually runs at 1%. Then all of a sudden, yesterday I got a message on my taskbar saying low memory, I check My Computer and it says my hard drive is full and has less size than what it should, even though 5 minutes ago it was 1/4 full.
Specs
AMD fx6 core processor 3.3ghz
750gb HDD
8gb ddr3 RAM
It is custom built by a store

Excuse me if I am a little illiterate, I'm pretty good with PC's but not that good.

Any help would be appreciated, and if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it admin.
