Computer all of a Sudden EXTREMELY SLOW!! Gateway NV52 - AMD Athlon 64 X2 QL-64
- 15.6" 16:9 HD LED LCD
- 320 GB HDD
- 4 GB Memory (NOT UPGRADABLE!!!!!)
- DVD-SUPER MULTI DL DRIVE
- WEBCAM
- MULTI-in-1 card reader
Those are my specs, Win 7 clean install.
All of a sudden it is extrmely slow, I searched for viruses but came up nothing. Did a registry sweep and did nothing. The computer is so slow that when I type into this dialog box it can't keep up. Youtube or any video playback is impossible, it looks and sounds like Direct TV when the signal is lost. Terrible digital feedback noise and freezing. When I move the mouse around the curser struggles to keep up.
I check my computer CPU and it almost never reaches 100%.
I am lost guys help? | My System Specs |

Go to search type device manager and look for any yellow warning markers
Download and run malwarebytes, a full scan after you update
Run antivirus scan
Check memory with memtest86
Make sure that you are not over heating.
Try in safe mode; report back if it works properly.
Try a clean boot
Make sure PSU is working properly
If overclocking, restore to original
Test hard drive at company website.

Is atieclxx.exe a legit process? Computer working much better now BTW. Used Malware, it found zero issues though. I did a registry cleaner as well. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway NV52 OS Windows 7 Graphics Card ATI |

A virus can disquise itself as anything, so you can go just by names. In the future, stop using those registry cleaners, many times they cause more harm than good.

Why would you come here for our help and then use a Registry Cleaner which is the cause of many serious problems we see here? Which one did you use? I would System Restore now to before you ran it if it is any other than CCleaner.
Work through these troubleshooting steps to find clues to your problems, including establishing a clean boot, testing hardware, checking logs and system resources. | My System Specs | | |

OK OK I found the issue. Malware has helped me identify the issue.
It's a Trojan.Clicker.CT. It is located in C:|Windows\SysWOW64\adbcnsl.exe.
How do I get rid of it?
Thanks again guys | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway NV52 OS Windows 7 Graphics Card ATI |
