My computer Blu-ray burner device driver is having problems, switch to DVD burner, device drivers is not working for it either, updated to latest AMD 880G driver, did not help, swapped SATA cable and port, still not working, uninstalled SATA/IDE device drivers and let windows reinstall after reboot, changed nothing, wonder if my SATA ports are failing?

I would suspect the burner before the SATA ports. Much more likely to be the problem. The only way I know to find out is try it in another computer.

Turn out to be a problem with the registry. had to delete one small piece, Blu-ray now works.

    Upper/Lower filters perhaps?

How did you find the problem. That info may help someone else in the future.

    Thanks.

Regarding the slow music folder – try changing the folder customization to optimize for something like documents instead of music. You can do it for all folders at once from the properties of the root folder. That removes the initial freeze on my system.
