Windows 7: Laptop slower than used to be and I hardly use the laptop

I have a Toshiba M645-S4055. It has the I5-450m processor. When I bought the brand new the first thing I did was bring it to Best Buy to have them buy two things

1) Hitachi 7k500 (one of the fastest hard drives when I purchased it)

2) Replaced the Broadcom WIFI with a Intel 6250 Wimax/WIFI card

I hardly use this laptop as I always use my girlfriends laptop. I did load a few insurance quote softwares (I am an insurance broker). I thought that was slowing down the system, so I deleted the softwares and still not as fast as it use to be.

The most annoyingis when I boot up the computer and windows desktop comes up the little WIFI connection logo does not connect right away (like all the other laptops that are in my house) mine has that blue circle that keeps going and going for 30 seconds to a minute and sometimes more than it connects. Why doesn't it connect right away like the other laptops?

Anything I can post on here that would help you help me?

Try putting your old Broadcom Wi-Fi adapter in, install the drivers and see if there is any difference. (make sure you remove the Intel 6250 drivers and software first) ... this should determine if there is any fault with the new wi-fi adapter

Thank you for the reasponse. But, the Intel 6250 was not always slow in connecting. It wasn't like once I put the new card in the connection went slow. It used to connect right away like it is supposed to.

Don't use the Intel adapter software, just the card. Use Windows 7's superior wireless utility in System tray to connect.

Work through these other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 particularly achieving a clean boot.

I did what PooMan UK suggested. I changed the WIFI card. I bought another card that is exactly the same model as mine. It did not work still very slow on initial connection when starting up the computer.

Optimize Windows 7

Turn off any connection manager provided in the Toshiba bloatware. You want to use the Windows 7 connection icon in the bottom-right System Tray to connect directly to your wireless signal.
