found out why my computer restarts when I shut down. Turns out there is a FAN LED switch on my computer case. Turned the FAN LED off. Results: computer shuts down without restarting. | My System Specs | | OS windows 7 ultimate x64 |

The only reason I could think of that the fan would affect it at all is, that it is probably drawing too much power from the power supply. Or, if the fan is connected to the motherboard, it is probably taking too much power from the supplied power which would make your motherboard act strange. Be sure to check if the fan is not drawing too much power, you don't want to burn a part of your hardware out for a measly fan. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom, HP Pavilion g6, HP ProBook 4530s OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Windows 7 Pro x64 (both laptops) CPU Intel i7-3770K (OC 4.7GHz),Intel i3-380M, i3 2350M Motherboard Asus P8P67 (REV 3.1) Memory 8GB Corsair Vengeance, 6GB SK Hynix, 4GB SK Hynix Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB, Intel HD Graphics (both laptops) Sound Card Realtek Integrated, IDT (both laptops) Monitor(s) Displays Samsung S22C200B 21.5" Screen Resolution 1920x1080, 1366x768 (both laptops) Keyboard Logitech K360 Mouse Logitech M305 PSU Coolmax CUL-850B Case Thermaltake Element G Cooling Corsair H60 Hard Drives Crucial 128GB
