I have similar problem. I build new PC on i7 3820, GA-X79-UD3 (bios v 11), GSkillz RipjawZ K4 1600Mhz, Samsung 840 Pro SSD.

The PC does not wake up properly. It shows login screen and after you type password it hangs. Sometime for long time with following BSOD 0x000000F4 and sometime just hangs.

The PC is not overclocked.

This particular RAM is now supported in bios 11.

The X79 storage controlled set to RAID.

The system disk is SSD and a single drive, the other drive is RAID1 with 2 regular HDDs.

My hunch is that the sleep problem somehow related to the Intel RSTe drivers. But I couldn't find the way to reinstall them (I have installed them from the Intel website rather than the Gigabyte).

P.S. I tried this : http://dri.ibuypower.com/tm.aspx?m=80008&mpage=1 (C1E etc)
and this: http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-builds/73112-updated-storks-thunderbolt-build-i5-3570k-ga-z77x-up5-th-gtx-650-ti-mountain-lion-27.html (XCHI)...

nothing worked... I use hibernate instead (bummer!)
